We consider it an
honor to welcome you to the official website of Providence Christian
School! We are a school that desires to minister to the entire
family. We encourage all families to become all that God calls them
to be in our culture. We profess a Biblical world and life view that
confesses that God is the author of all Truth (capital T). Our aim
is to provide a loving Christ-centered atmosphere that compliments a
godly home and challenges all students to pursue academic
excellence, physical development, and spiritual wisdom. Our goal is
to promote principled thinking that assists learners to develop a
biblical worldview consistently applied to every aspect of life.
Because learning is an ongoing process, students are encouraged to
develop a life-long-love of learning in order to glorify God. And
because the world desperately needs ministers, students are equipped
to become servant leaders willing to make an impact on culture not
just be comfortable for Jesus.
Scripture teaches
that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom” and that
Christians are to “love the Lord with all our heart soul and mind.”
Accordingly, our approach to teaching integrates scripture with
subject matter for the purpose of developing a thoroughly biblical
worldview in all learners. The field of education is a major
battlefield in the spiritual warfare that Christians will encounter.
Believers are commanded to be diligent to provide a Christ-centered
learning philosophy for their children. Therefore, it is not
possible to educate from a neutral perspective; some worldview,
whether God honoring or not, will be taught and maintained. As
Douglas Wilson states, “education is built on the foundation of the
instructor’s worldview and the worldview of those who developed the
curriculum.”
Our classical
approach is not new but has been used throughout the years as a
successful method of teaching and learning. Classical education is a
method that is both proven and improves students. It is like
classical music that is timeless. Not only is it proven, but also,
students of music study it to improve their musical ability. In the
same manner, the grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages are proven levels
of learning and growth that improve and enhance student knowledge,
understanding, and wisdom of God’s creation.
So, welcome! Look
